Last year’s Apple AirPods Pro improved on the standard AirPods with better comfort, sound and fit, while also adding noise cancellation. Our only gripe was that at a £249 price point, it could sound slightly better. However, now there are a couple retailers that have dropped the price under £220 – and both offer free UK delivery.

First up, Scan, often our favourite destination for Fitbit deals, is offering the Airpods Pro for £218.47 which knocks £30 off the asking price. Laptops Direct, follows closely behind at £219. Though the discount is similar from both retailers, Scan’s deal also includes a free wireless charger worth £10 – which is handy as the AirPods Pro charges wirelessly through the case.

Which is best: AirPods or Airpods Pro?

You’ll certainly get better sound quality and a more comfortable fit out of the AirPods Pro. The silicone tips on the front (it comes with three size options) seal off your ears, without adding pressure, to boost the bass and block outside noise. Plus, you can the AirPods Pro while working out and they’re less likely to fall out. Read our full review on our sister site Macworld UK

The stems on the Pro options are shorter too, and are pressure sensitive. You can pinch the stems to skip tracks, pause, activate noise cancellation or access Siri. The AirPods Pro also boast an excellent transparency mode, one of the best we’ve seen.

The transparency mode is essentially a filtered noise-cancellation that uses the microphone to feed certain blocked sounds back into your ears like cars or voices, so you’re not totally closed off from what’s happening around you.

You can compare the price on the AirPods Pro from other retailers using our tool below. Or head to Scan or Laptops Direct now to pick up the discount.
